Amplifier - An amplifier can be considered to be any device that uses a small amount of energy to control a larger amount, although the term today usually refers to an electronic amplifier. The relationship of the input to the output of an amplifier â€” usually expressed as a function of the input frequency â€” is called the transfer function of the amplifier, and the magnitude of the transfer function is termed the gain.

Current-feedback operational amplifier - The current feedback operational amplifier or CFB op-amp is a type of electronic amplifier whose inverting input is sensitive to current, rather than to voltage as in a conventional voltage-feedback (VFB) operational amplifier. The CFB op-amp was invented by David Nelson at Comlinear Corporation, and first sold in 1982 as a hybrid amplifier, the CLC103.
